hello,
i am naeem sheikh from india and a proud owner of Xperia Z White! firstly i like to confess that i am a biggest fan of Sony especially Xperia Phones. i am somehow facing a small glitch in using the same.
whenever i connect my Z via USB using Sony PC Companion, only my SD CARD shows up in my file explorer. i am somehow not able to find or open my INTERNAL STORAGE in file explorer. i have updated Sony PCC still in vain. i have even installed Sony USB Drivers but again of no use.
i think installing Sony PCC from the stock android software, that pops-up while connecting Xperia via USB, should solve the problem. but again i have ticked on "Don't ask me again" option
and skipped the step.
can somebody please help me with the problem? or alternatively help me in finding the stock android Sony PCC.
many thanks!
are you certain? use OI File Manager whatever you first see is the internal storage, look for a folder called ext_card > that will be your SD card
Check your USB Connection Mode (Settings > Xperia > USB Connection Mode).
If you're connected vis Mass Storage Mode, only your external SD will be seen by your PC. To see both Internal & External SD, you ned to be connected via Media Transfer Mode(MTP).
i have the same problem, i see my storages in the phone but in pc i have pain.
plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
To solve the issue, open Device Manager on your computer to reinstall the driver for your device while your device is connected with your PC via a USB cable.
Microsoft Windows Vista and 7 users
To open Device manager on your computer
Click on the Start button.
In the Search box, type device manager, and then press enter.
Microsoft Windows 8 users
To open Device manager on your computer
Click the Desktop Tile to open the Desktop.
Click >> at the bottom right of the taskbar.
Select Control Panel from the Menu.
Select Device Manager from the list of control panel items.
Note: If you do not see the screen with the Device Manager option, click the View by drop-down menu and select Small icons.
Microsoft Windows XP and 2000 users
To open Device manager on your computer
On the desktop, right-click on My Computer and click Properties.
In the System Properties window, click the Hardware tab.
In the Hardware, tab click the Device Manager button.
To reinstall the drivers for your device
Scroll down to the Universal Serial Bus controllers (USB section) of the Device Manager window.
Look for an MTP Device: Media Device, Unknown Device or any other reference to your phone. Click on this entry and choose "Uninstall" whilst leaving the device connected.
Wait a few minutes, and the computer will reinstall the drivers for the device.
Now, the phone is accessible via Computer/My Computer on your computer.

tried to reinstall, still connecting via usb, i can only turn on the mass storage, but no internal 😕
Spot on, thank you!
This is EXACTLY THE SOLUTION, needed to change the USB Connectivity setting from Mass Storage to Media Transfer Mode, everything came up immediately, thousands of photos I've been trying to access for months. was so stressed.
Highly grateful, highly impressed.
I have an LG G3 and now Im experiencing the same problem. How does one change the USB connectivity? I saw someone mention it.
once reinstall is done.. pull down the notification bar on your phone. you can see a option "usb for charging touch for more options" ,click on "usb for charging touch for more options" then click " file transfer(MTP)" . now you can see internal storage on your computer
