I bought a refurbished Sony XPeria Z3 from online and I tried to check IMEI when I got the phone. I know the IMEI number changes when the phone is refurbished but still the number has got to be recorded in Sony database, right? When I am trying to register the product, website gives a warning about "there is no product with this IMEI". So maybe it is not a original phone and I want to learn if I can learn it for sure, like to check on another website? Or maybe this is normal because the phone is refurbished, I have no idea how refurbished works for IMEI matters? Also, there is no model, information or photo when checking in imei.info.

Thank you in advance.

^^ And also the model of the phone is D6653 not D6603 which is the normal model that is being selled by companies in my country. Is it an issue or is it okay? I think the only difference is that D6653 does not cover 800, 1700 and 1900 mhz LTE bands.

Anyone with knowledge will be really helpful.

Good day!

I own a Z3 and I wanted to register it in Xperia Care. However, I have a problem when I am registering my phone. Whenever I register my IMEI, it says that the IMEI is not valid but when I check the "Support" part of my phone's settings (I have the Marshmallow update), the app recognizes my IMEI. I don't know if the problem is in the website or what but I really want to register my phone because it still has warranty. ALso, I didn't unlock my bootloader.

Please help me resolve this issue. Thank you and God bless.

Hi @marvinmoyco,

Could you send me your phone's IMEI in a PM and include which sign in option you use when you sign in to our website? If so I can try to look into this.
