How does Stamina Mode in Xperia Z2 work

Hi,

I have a question about Stamina Mode in Xperia Z2

If I turn on Stamina Mode does it also block Google background services like synchronisations, location updates etc? In other words for these services to work do I have to explicitly enable applications like:

  • Google Play Services
  • Google Calendar Sync
  • Google Contacts Sync
  • Google Backup Transport
  • Google Services Framework
  • Google Play Music

What about Google Now, is is also affected?

Kinds regards,

Luke

Exactly.

If you enable extended usage mode, it underclocks the CPU to (I think) 1.5GHz

I don't really think it underclocks the CPU,same performance on games with/without it.But it disables some functions that really drain battery like mobile data,wi-fi etc.Stamina kicks in after 15 minutes of inactivity.

Doesn't it mention "restricting hardware performance"?

My HTC One M7 had the same thing, and it underclocked the CPU to 1.1 GHz from 1.7 GHz

Yeah,I know but I just said what I think and what I have encountered during gameplay with and without stamina on resourceful games.Anyway,it makes the phone a little "sleepy".

True, the launcher seems to be laggy with extended usage on.

If you tick restrict performance (found within stamina mode settings), it will under clock!!

I mean extended usage mode!

It'll under clock the CPU!
It says in the tab "How to use STAMINA MODE"

Now I see, these options are available on Z2 only.Restrict hardware limitations, sorry,I am using Z1 and stamina only disables the functions like I said normally, only with extended standby and restrict hardware limitations it is different.
