ENCRYPTION WARNING - READ BEFORE ENCRYPTING!!!

I already posted this in another thread, but it bears repeating.

BACKUP FUNCTION IS DISABLED IF YOU ENCRYPT YOUR PHONE!!

http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z1/Unable-to-backup-using-Back-up-and-restore-app/m-p/409967#U4...

To be clear, if you decide to encrypt your phone you do so at the limitation of not being able to create a backup of your phone... EVER!

If the phone is encrypted, it should simply create an encrypted backup.  This is so obvious.  There is no excuse to limit the functionality because the phone is encrypted.

Sony doesn't tell you this will be a limitation BEFORE you enable encryption.  Furthermore, there is NO way to remove the encryption unless you do a factory reset, and you can't back up your data before doing so!

You have been warned!

Yet another splendind reason to avoid this brand at all costs. Sony are working against their customers, so far this has been proved.

Encrypting your data is entirely optional, and quite a few Google devices offer this. Sony do not make you encrypt your data!
