So I have tried several in car chargers, including the official Sony product, but none of them can supply charge to the phone to keep it charged whilst using the phone for sat nav. Even if I turn off wi-fi, reduce screen brightness etc, the phone still drains and I get a message stating that the connected charger isnt charging the phone fast enough (or words to that effect!)
Is this a known issue, or is it possible I have a faulty phone?
I have just done the update to Android 4.4.4 so hoping that will help...
The problem here is the charger not the phone, also wifi will drain your battery faster, you should check what other apps are syncing that might be draining quite a bit of battery
But the wifi is off... the charger is a 15.5W charger, this should be ample surely?
I saw that, thanks - Have also just read that the cable can make a difference, as some cheap cables think they are connected to a usb port and charging gets limited to ~500ma

So Im going to try and dig out my otiginal Sony cable and see if that makes a difference.
Thanks for the advice

So changing the lead made no difference. If I monitor the current, I see it is only pulling around 200ma on the car charger. On a2.1amp mains charger it only seems to pull around 1amp. The car charger is supposed to be well over 1amp. Have also tried it in another car...
Have now raised this as an issue with Sony, I will keep this post updated with any useful info I get back from them.
i have this problem also , have tried my car and work van with different cables ( all official sony gear ) and no luck , have been told you cant charge this phone in car ! true or false ?
