Cant use front camera on snapchat

My son's had his Sony experia m4 aqua 2 days, the camera doesn't switch to the front camera on Snapchat, any ideas?

Does using the regular camera is he able to switch from the rear camera to the front facing camera?

Hi thanks for replying, no just realised this morning there is no icon to use front camera? Been looking online and someone recommended rebooting in safe mode to see if there was a problem with one of the apps he downloaded but that doesn't work either

Hi, 

I am having the exact problem, and it is brand new (today). I have started in Safe Mode, and done the repair as described, and still have not found the solution.

Settings > about phone > diagnostics > test > test the camera

The front camera only has a blank white screen under testing, the rear camera is operational.
