I have a new Z3 Compact phone, and a new SIM card. Do I need to activate the SIM card before I add any new contacts? I ask because I've tried to add contacts, and was unable to.
You can save contacts internally, without using a SIM. Only to place normal calls you need a SIM. Can you also elaborate a bit more?
contacts are saved in the phone's internal memory and not in simcards anymore.. but if you want to add contacts to the simcard memory you can first save them in the phone's memory and then use the export/import option on the contacts app.
I am unable to copy the contacts from my old phone, so I need to enter them manually into the new phone. I wanted to do that before I activated the new phone (therefore unactivating my old one), but I'm having a little difficulty.
According to Sony instructions, (http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/xperiaz3compact/userguide/Adding-and-editing-contacts/) you click SAVE after entering the contact information you want saved, but there is NO save button appearing on the Z3 Compact's screen? I entered the contact name, then the phone number, then the NEXT button, but then the cursor goes in the email info box, which I don't want. On my Xperia Ray there was a DONE button, which saved the contact, but there's nothing like that on this screen? Is it that complicated, or am I missing something?
Thanks.
Just figured it out. Those Sony instructions are not correct. On the top left of the screen was the word 'Done' with a checkmark beside it. I finally figured out to click on that, and it saved the contact. There is no Save button.
