Bluetooth problem with file transfering

My Xperia X bluetooth can pair with other devices and the Bluetooth tethering works fine.
But when I share a file via Bluetooth, it's always failed with "Connection unsuccessful" message. It cannot receive files from other paired devices also.
Rebooting or repairing device does not help.
This problem might happen after upgrading to Nougat.

After updating to ver 34.2.A.0.333, it seems the problem has been fixed.

Now I can pair and transfer files between my X with other devices via Bluetooth without any problem.

What file type are you trying to send?

Some devices and file types(IIRC) will also require you to accept the transfer on the receiving device even if paired

Just some images and audios, they're .jpg and .mp3 extensions. I also test on my Galaxy A5 and my laptop Vaio S without any problem.

What's the receiving? Other device or the xperia?

Is the error the same if you are sending or receiving?

I just finished a 4 hour troubleshooting for Bluetooth connectivity with Unified Remote, Windows 10 and Z5C.

Thanks for your support.

So far, I've tried with 3 other devices: Galaxy A5, Vaio S and Mac Mini.

For sending, it just shows "Connection unsuccessful", the other 3 paired devices does not show any dialog for confirming.

For receiving from the other phone and pc (galaxy and vaio), there is no dialog on my Xperia. From the Galaxy, there is a same message "Connection unsuccessful". And from the pc, it shows: "Device Object Push service not available or busy". Surprisingly, I can receive file from the Mac Mini, there is a notification for file acceptantance from this one.

Unless the X changed Bluetooth api, the Z5C requires authentication, so I'm going to assume the other Z series are the same.

Even while paired to a PC on Windows 10, I have to accept on the receiving end, to and from the device.

How many Bluetooth services are available on the phone that you can see on the PC device manager? Some will be an unknown service because Sony have disabled them... I don't know which on the X.

AADP is one of the missing ones for Z.

I just remembered, if you have all of your devices on and in range, with Bluetooth enabled, you'll need to turn off Bluetooth for the ones that aren't transferring to the PC. It's not smart enough for multiple session authentication.

Hi, there is my post about that issue since dec 2016. I still haven't figured out why X can't receive files through bluetooth. Now I at leat got a confirmation that Z5 can receive data through bluetooth after Nougat, from NeoBeum at Z5 forum.

There must be something wrong with X, receiving worked well with Marshmellow and ended after Nougat update.
