trying to install latest firmware but keeps aborting after transferring 2%. I’m using an iPhone X running iOS beta 13.1, this might be the problem? bluetooth connections etc all work fine as do earbuds running old software. I’ve complied with all the rules, turning off other bluetooth devices etc but still no joy, Is there a way to download via wired computer connection and transferring that way? Probably not.

I am having exactly the same issue as you. On iOS 13.1 and gets to 2% update and fails. Good bluetooth connection, everything else disconnected. It's frustrating.
HELLO
Just to let you know that the latest iOS beta of 13.1 just out fixed the problem for me.

Hi Tonyofla73,
Can you try a different phone?

On iPhone 7 with Beta 13, experiencing issue with transfer failing at 2% as well. Happened with 13.0 and 13.1.
Switching to a phone with iOS 12 fixed the issue.
Updating these is a complete pain.
I'm using an Android phone.
It starts the update fine. I beleive it updates each one separatly because I have the pair sitting on my desk next to the phone. All devices are at 100% battery. Little blue lights flash ocassionally.
Update starts, gets to 30% fails. No blue lights. Jiggle the buds until blue lights start again.
Update starts, get to 76% and fails. No blue lights. Jiggle the buds until blue lights start again.
And so on and so forth until one finishes, then go through the entire process again until the other does.
Sony, I use your cameras and lenses. Updating those is so easy.
Why can't these be updated as easily?
