NW a35 - Bluetooth

I have a A35 which has 1.20 firmware.  I while back I had it connected to my Samsung soundbar but was having all sorts of issues loading songs.  During this period I made a number of resets* but eventually discivered that the sd cards I was using was the trouble. A new (non-cheap) sd card resolved that issue.  I now find I cannot connect to my soundbar - it is just not found.  I have deleted the soundbar from other devices and re-discovered so it is working/pairing.  I can also find other bluetooth devices on my A35 - but not the soundbar.  I have tried a factory reset but still not bluetooth soundbar discovery. * Since one of the factory resets I seem to have lost the device folders when views from MediaGo or Music Centre.  I use to have two connection choices, either the device itself or the sd card.  Now, I can only see the sd card.  Also, when I did a factory reset today and switched back on (the sd card was out of the device) I noticed that the device was still showing total number fo songs - as if it is reading from a cache.  I would have thought a factory reset would have wiped everything. Perhaps I'm not doign the factory reset correctly). Any advice appreciated.

Hi Quarkrad,

Let us check into this for you and update the thread when we have more information to share. Maybe some other members will have some advice for you in the interim.

Best wishes,

Hi quarkad,

You're may be right as there are different "levels" of resetting the device. You can find this highlighted in the help guide here. I'd try resetting the Walkman first and see where that takes me from there.

One thing surprises me with this device.  When one hits Factory Reset, or any of the format options, nothing appears to happen - it is as if the Factory Reset is instantaneous. Is this right?  When I hit Factory Reset absolutely nothing happens - as if it is a dead key stroke.

Hi quarkrad,

I think in this case you should have the Walkman inspected at the Sony service centre. You can find their details here: http://www.sonypencoed.co.uk/contact/

It is still under warranty - what should happen when I press Restore to Factory Configuration?  I.e. what screens should appear and what sort of thing do they say? (Normaly one is asked for conformation with this sort of reformat).

When I click on Reset all Settings or Format System Storage or Restore to Factory Configuration nothing appears to happen - the screen remains static.  At the moment if I connect the a35 to my pc it is not visible, either by the operating system, or MediaGo or Music Center.  If I power off and insert a SD card and connect the a35 the device is visble and I can transfer files (audio) to it and it will play.  In MediaGo and Music Center the only option for transfer is the SD card storage - there is NO option for the device internal storage. It looks to me the internal storage is not configured - hence it not being visible. Surely this is not right.  Is there another way of getting back to Factory Config other that pressing the button in Settings?

Hi again,

When you factory reset the Walkman, it should restart itself completely and remove all previous settings that you have configured. If it's not doing even that, I'd say there's something wrong that needs to be fixed. It's a good thing it's still under warranty though so you can just send it over to Sony and it should be sorted out.
