Wireless problems with sz2 and Netgear router?

I had intermittant problems getting connected from a SZ2/XP to a Negear WRT54GS cable router. Basically it would connect but would not get accuire a DHCP IP address with an reliability. Sometimes it worked,sometimes rebooted the Vaio or the router would fix it. Eventually I used the Intel PROSet drivers instead of Windows (XP pro sp2) and it hasn't failed since.
