windows 7 upgrade from vista (vgn ar71s)

i suppose some of you will remember a post i made a while ago about a custom install of windows 7, turns out, my version should be eligable for an "in place upgrade" that transports all your programs and documents to the newly installed windows 7, without formatting

this presents a dilemna, will all the vaio apps and tools work?

has anyone recently upgraded their vaio to windows 7 from vista and did they have any problems??? specifically with system tools, recovery tools and apps?

if so let me (and others)know here please...

thanks

Everything works. I just upgraded my Z21 from Vista Business to Windows 7 Professional without any problems. All the VAIO tools works fine in Windows 7.
It's preferable to update the Vista and the VAIO software first before upgrading.

There are some requirements. Check the Windows Upgrade Chart.

Your AR71S runs Windows Home Premium so in order to do a in place upgrade you need to use the Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Ultimate disk.

funny thing about that chart is there is a chocbloc of things wrong with it

here is a much simpler and correct chart
