Wi-fi connection goes down when using battery!

hi mates!
I'm still very happy and satisfied about my fs415s..
there's just one thing that is a little bit boring:

when I use my home wi-fi connection, and the laptop works with battery, the connection goes down*! most of the times it goes down when the battery is running lower than 30%! Then if I use the ac adaptor it works again!!

Is it a coincidence?
has anybody experienced this? is this a "centrino" problem?

*i mean that my laptop can't get any information or data from the net, while the router is still working correctly and the other pc(desktop) works fine(it is directly linked to the router)

Do you use Intel PROSet?

Hi fixe,

In device manager check the power options for your wireless card, the lowest setting can be set to maximum battery life ranging to the highest seting of Maximum performance..

If you are using XP Home in Device Manager, double click on your wireless adapter - go to Power Options and uncheck the box "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

Blencogo I don't have that option, I guess the settings vary depending on the type of card installed..:smileyhappy:

Hi,

i changed my settings to Maximum Performance after reading this post, hadn't a clue why the internet speed felt sluggish when running on battery power.

i'm learning something new everyday since joining Club VAIO.

Have a nice weekend,

Melroy
