hey,
just wondering if any of u smart peeps out there cud help. basically had my vp for about 1yr now, and love it to bits, but only prob the volume is a bit low compared to other mp3 players on the market,

eg,
in the girlfriends car on a 2 hr mission her radio is busted, we use my vp on and some shitty speakers, we cudnt even hear it over the heater in car, when we used he crappy cheap mp3 player it was almost twice as loud.( and b4 u ask i have disabled that avls thingy)

so im wondering if there is any updates that can increase the max volume,

cheers

Hi,

I remember back in the early days on this forum, when the VP was just a babe, someone posted a hack to allow you to increase the volume.

There's probably some law out there that says that these devices have to have their volume control limited to protect our sensitive little ears.

The hack will obviously invalidate your warranty, so only do it if you have your VP for over a year.

If I had the time I would go back and find the post for you, but I'm not sure that I do. Have a look at the first few months and you should get it.

Best of luck,
John

There is something posted back in the day about this, it is because the European settings on the AVLS in the sound settings limits the sound output.

Firstly, make sure the the AVLS is turned off and try that, if it is still not loud enough for you, try different headphones, (or whatever you are using to hook it up to the car stereo) if I can remember correctly, someone posted about resoldering the headphones and bypassing one of the circuits (or was that on the PSP forum?? Bothe being SONY products, the both suffer from this)

Again, I can pretty much bet that any problems posted have already been asked and answered somewhere on here.

for the record, I use different headphones than the ones supplied and it volume will go up to unbearable.

Sorry mate, just re-read and realised that you have done the AVLS thing, still searching for the bypass.
