VGC-LA1 - Keyboard letters rubbing out

OK, not been on for ages as we dumped Sony dueto build issues but we now need to get hold of keyboards for the LA1 series computers. Nothing on eBay and no way to get them so these £1,400 door-props are sitting idle as we cannot replace the keyboards. Any ideas please?

The LA1 keyboards have been unavailable for some time from retail outlets.

Some LA users have used the VGP-WKB1 keyboard which is commonly available on eBay. This is a RF keyboard and reports here have been confusing in that some users report that they need to obtain the USB RF Receiver VGN-WRC1 and some say that they have managed to connect directly with the LA's receiver.

You could always use any third party USB wired or wireless-with-dongle keyboard.

Sony Vaio-Link retain some parts from older models for repair purposes and it is likely that they will have a few keyboards and individual keys in stock.

How many are you looking for? Would you like me to ask what they have available? I doubt following your other comments that you will be in their good books at the moment.

Customer is using another brand now so the problem has been solved. The remaining LA1s that they have will be auctioned off and the money going to charity.

No,they are not buying Sony again.
