VAIO & VIRTUALIZATION - SCANDAL !!!

VAIO & VIRTUALIZATION - SCANDAL !!!

SCANDAL !!!

I just saw my new laptop VGN-AW31ZJ/B has the Intel virtualization instructions disabled (by Sony's BIOS).

I'm an IT consultant, I'm using several VMware products, who could take great advantage of these functions. Furthermore, due to this limitation, Windows 7's 'XP mode' will most probably not work !!

Sony mentions this limitation nowhere !!! It is not my job to go looking around on the Internet before buying something. If Sony wants to say something, they should have it clearly indicated on the box, or have their employee mention it BEFORE they sell it.

I contacted my professional law insurance, to consider asking Sony for a complete refund of the laptop, unless they provide a fix, quickly...

Sony pretends having done this for the security of the users ??? BULLSHIT !!! Do they really believe at Sony that they're so much smarter than those at IBM, HP and Dell (just to name a few), who leave this functionality available to users ???

I'm really pissed off... Sony laptops have become something for amateurs and/or fashionistas...

Professionals: keep your hands off VAIO !!
