I seem to have a problem with my screen. Sometimes when i turn on my vaio, the brightness is really dark, but if i lightly tap the screen a few times it comes back to normal. Also if i move the screen whilst in use or sometimes if i just move the computer it goes dark and i have to power off and power on again, therefore losing everything. My vaio is only eighteen months old and i don't want to have to replace it, any ideas what this problem could be? Is it possibly a loose connection?Or, is it more serious (ie replacement lcd?)Please help before I lose my screen altogether and can't read your replies!!

Hi arrowarra,

I think you are right - certainly sounds like a bad connection in the Inverter or in the connection between the Inverter and the screen or the motherboard and the Inverter.

The only remedy would be to get someone to check the contacts (or do it yourself if you feel brave).

What model of Vaio do you have?
