upgrading RAM on VGN-AW21XY

I want to upgrade RAM on my notebook. Can anyone advise on how I go about this and where to purchase memory; doesn't seem to be available on Vaio website.

The procedure is shown in some detail starting on Page 143.

Your model has only two memory slots and these will contain a 2GB module in each. To increase the memory will mean discarding one or both of these 2GB modules and replacing them with two 4GB modules to give you 8GB total memory.

Sony don't actually make memory - if you look at your existing modules they will probably be another make like Samsung. Most members here get their memory from www.crucial.com/uk as the company gives a compatability guarantee and I have never heard a complaint. You will probably want the 8GB Kit which costs £265 - sound a lot but is likely to be half the price of any Sony supplied modules. Have a look here: -
