unable to execute the bios update

Hi,

I want to update the bios for my SR41P soi downloaded the bios update in the update sectiopn. But when I try to excute the .exe file, an message tell me that I can't access the file cause is secured. Can you help me?

Always read the instructions for BIOS updates, it's very important, a simple error can redeem your computer useless.

Unless it's very necessary i would leave it be.

If you did want to do the update, I would have a look at the information VAIO Link have posted on their website and print it out for reference.

Also make sure you are not running any other programs.

Before running the executable, right click the file, click properties, make sure there is no tick next to 'read only'.

If this doesn't work then try downloading the file to a different folder. and attempt to run the self extractor from there.

If you haven't got any problems that are corrected by the BIOS update then don't bother doing it. A BIOS update failure can turn your nice shiny computer into an expensive doorstop.
