Stereo connections

I have bought a jack plug to phono lead and my VAIO pocket gives very patchy output - any ideas?

Sounds probably either :

1. Dodgy cable
2. Loose connection in the docking station

I have used mine with a cable into my monitor no problems....

Hello,
usually the phono line-in is extremely sensitive so that the signal will be very distorted. Use a normal line-in (AUX, Tuner etc.) and the sound should get better!

EVEN WORTH! THE SENSETIVITY IS MUCH HIGHER AND THE CHARACTERISTIC IS DIFFERENT. THERE IS LOW AND HIGH FREQUENCY CUT/AMPLIFICATION IN PHONO INPUT. NEVER USE IT! USE AUX.
