SONY VAIO VPCW12S1E CPU upgrade question

Dear People,

got myself a very cute VPCW12S1E running on Linux Mint 18.1.

Slow as it is I would like to upgrade this little gem.

I already fpound out that 2GB ram is the max....

I wamt to go for a SSD (60 or 120) and maybe a faster CPU

What is the fastest CPU I can use and not overheat this notebook.

All just for fun and in order to use it travelling...

Thanks for an answer or sugestions.

Hi Jan

By all means try a SSD and 2GB RAM but the Atom single-core is almost certainly soldered into the main board and will not be economically upgradable.

Even if an upgrade to a dual core Atom 330 were possible the power requirement would increase from 2.5 watts to over 8 watts and if that power could be supplied, it would surely overheat.
