Hi Raymond,
The camera device driver for the VGP-VCC2 camera is the same driver for both XP and Vista.
You can download it with the Original Drivers Package for the AR21S from here: -
http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/preinstalled/index.aspx?l=en_GB&m=VGN-AR21S
All the other drivers are designed for XP - so you just need the Camera Driver.
I attach it below just in case!!
Many thanks,
But how can I install the driver within Vista? There is no installation program available in the supplied driver directory for the built in camaera??
please help
Hi Raymond.
Try this: -
1. Find the uninstalled USB Camera device in Device Manager and double-click on it.
2. Go to Driver tab and select Update Driver.
3. Select Browse my computer for driver software.
4. Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
5. Select Have Disk....
6. Select Browse....
7. Browse to your downloaded driver .inf file. (\\Drivers\Camera\VGP-VCC2\5U870CAP.INF)
8. Next ..........
9. If you get a warning screen, select "Install Anyway".
10. Close & Re-Boot
If successfully installed it will show as "Sony Visual Communication Camera - VCC2" in Device Manager.
Hello,
That is exactly my problem: the inf file: Drivers\Camera\VGP-VCC2\5U870CAP.INF is not part of the zip file you attached.
please help
If it’s not there then try downloading again because it appears at this end....
Thanks,
It works, many thanks for your help
regards
