Hi All
I have a C1XN and C1MHP Picturebooks that are really beyond their useful life.
I'd like to remove the screens and use them as in car screens rather then the poor quality and poor resolution ones the lilliput units are.
The idea is to permanently mount them in a Wrangler in the dashboard area (after removing the inbuilt stereo unit) and have an incar Mini ITX PC running them.
I appreciate you can't connect the removed screen to a standard graphics card but the Mini ITX board I'm looking at has an LVDS output, is there anyway of hooking the removed screen up to an LVDS output and driving it?
TIA

NO.
Tried this with a C1VN about 2 years ago and wished we hadn't.

What was the problem? I've done some research and if I can get the pinouts for the screen don't see whay it wouldn't work.
I realise I need to get a regulated power supply to drive the screen but surely LVDS provides the required outputs?
There's more to this than the outputs and the power supply. We never got to the bottom of this as it would appear that part of the screen system is software driven and without its motherboard counterpart in the system unit we could never get it working happily.
Haha sounds like you should be talking to Xibit on Pimp My Ride
Well in that case could anyone lay their hands on the Service Manuals for the two models? I'm quite happy to sacrifice a machine to see if I can get this done....
If I can get it working I'll post the howto here with pictures.
TIA
If we've still got the manuals that we had in our service lab I'll see what I can do but I wil not be going to over there until the middle of next week.
OK Tnks
I'm more then happy to turn them into .pdfs if it helps as well.
TIA

Just a memory jogger for when you go to the labs tomorrow.
