Hello All,
I have a Vaio RS222, when I bought this machine, I got no discs
with it.
Now I would like to run a repair/Recovery on it.
Can anybody tell me how to put the installed software/OS on to
CD's.
I do not have the Vaio Recovery Tools here, or I can't find them.
Thank you.
Mike.
EDIT: Sorry Mike - your RS222 does not have a recovery partition and should have come with recovery disc(s) when you purchased it.
You will have to purchase the discs fron Vaio-Link if you have lost them and need a recovery (about £55).
If your Vaio is just slow, try downloading the free trial version of TUNE UP UTILITIES and Optimise your system and Registry.
:smileyblush:
Run a spyware check too, never hurts
Spybot Search and Destroy and AdAware are the best
Hello Blencogo,
Thank you for your response.
I have been to Tune Up Utilities and downloaded
the trial version. This programme found nearly
100MB to recover.
Kee-Lo,
I run lots of different spyware and AV programmes,
Spy-Bot is one of them, but something is slowing my
PC down a lot..
Thank you both for your replies.
Mike.
Hi Mike,
Are you using Norton ISS ?
Hi Blencogo,
I am using Norton Corporate Edition,
with the real time protectiondisabled
as it slows my PC down considerably.
Mike.
Hi Mike,
I only ask as there have been several posts recently about Norton using too much of the computer's resources and causing problems with speed and boot-up/shutdown.
Most of us seem to have abandoned Norton in favour of a less resource hungry Security Suite. ZoneAlarm plus AVG anti-virus seems the favorite (both free) solution.
As ZoneAlarm seems to be the best firewall (this is free) and when used with Kaspersky 2006 (£26) provides a de-luxe solution.
ZoneAlarm ISS 6.1 (£27) is a popular 'all in one' solution.
