recovery disaster.....PCG-K415s

did a full viao recovery on my pcg-k415s thats been done before with no problems but this time it decided to turn itself off during the process...now the problem is my HD has been wiped and it stalls at 24% of 1st part of recovery with the message "Failed to read Image" thats not using disc's so its not them,not the HD as it do's the exact same with a new one.
Any ideas would be very helpfull..

is there any way i can put xp on the hd or do i have to use my viao.

i find this forum utterly useless.....380 somthin views and not one reply..where are all the so called tech wizzies to help the newb's..
sony's customer services are bad but thats expected.
dont know if its because ive had my vaio for a few years and never really had any probs and its not current enough for people..

You probably got no replies because your post is a bit confusing and it is not clear what the problem is and what exactly have you already tried to fix it.

Have you reset the BIOS defaults?
Have you made a set of Recovery Discs?
Have you tried a Recovery direct from the hard disc by tapping F10 during boot?

It sounds like your HDD is corrupted and I think you may have to contact Sony for a new set of Recovery Discs which can be installed on your existing HDD (if it's OK) or on a new HDD if your drive is broken. You will have to do this with the HDD in your Vaio.

i knew a hint of sarcasm would work .
was just getting a bit frustrated.
reason it was a bit confusing was i had no clue what to do.
i did try with the disc's that i made when purchased ,i did try with the f10 but it ended in the same way.
just got it back from the shop and the hdd was corrupt and the machine is as good as new...
panic over.
