Nvidia 8m driver + mousepad driver

Hi all,

I have 2 driver questions:

I have (since some time) an AR51J laptop. I'd like to update the graphics drivers (8m series), because the latest update from sony is actually from 2007... However, the one on the Nvidia website does not support Sony notebooks. It's a waste, cause the driver has been improved quite a bit. How can I get the latest driver?

Another question is this. I got a logitech MX Revolution mouse, and since I installed the logitech software my mousepad wont scroll anymore. Deinstalling logitech stuff does not work. Tried to revert system, didn't work too. So I guess I need the driver for my mousepad as well, but I cant find that anywhere. Where to get this driver?

Thanks for any help.

Hi gkrijger and welcom to the forum.

For updating unsupported video drivers have a look at this thread http://club.vaio.sony.co.uk/clubvaio/gb/en/forum/viewthread?thread=63292

With regard to the touchpad problem, have a look in Device manager > mouse and other pointing devices. If you have a PS2 mouse listed (as opposed to a PS2 pointing device) then you need to update the driver and choose to browse for the driver software from the location of the original driver - possibly C:\Drivers\Pointing

Thanks Rich,

that takes care of the mousepad - I can scroll again!

The NVidia driver however... I already saw that link you posted. I downloaded the latest win 32 Vista driver, but when running setup.exe it says that it can't find any driver compatible with my systems hardware.

Hi qkrijger,

I’m pleased to hear that one of your problems is sorted

I take it that you did download and copy the modded inf file to the install directory for the NVidia drivers?

Now updated! Thanks.

Problem was I tried a certified driver, which doesn't have the modded INF file. Took the latest uncertified and that works. Great
