Since I have my PCG-FR215S I have seen the fan running whenever the notebook is on, no pauses. Now after some hours of working the laptop is switching of itself. I think
because of too high temperature on the bottom of the notebook.
Does anyone have experiences with these ecternal fans to be put under the notebook ? Are these helping ? Some are working with the power supply via USB, taking about 400 mA.
Is this ok for the vaio ? Or is one with a separate power supply the better choice ?
Thanks for any help.

yesterday i saw a good one in a computer shop (media markt /germany) for just 30¿, it was USB.powered but for myself its no problem for vaio. if you have your vaio longer than 2 hours on, you need to plug in the powercabel, but thats usual
hope i could help!?

Hi

Gunter, look around on the internet for Antec's laptop coolers. They should drop your laptops temp by about 11 degrees which is a fairly substantial difference..they're a base unit, which your laptop sits upon and i think it acts in dissipating the heat realeased by your laptop alot quicker
Sony laptops generally have cooling issues tho and in the longterm, i reckon a number of vaio users will have to switich to using ext. cooling devices
right click on power meter, bottom right corner, choose adjust
power properties, then choose different settings
