Msn Problem

I have a Sony VAIO VGN-NS20E. Ever since I have tried to use my webcam and microphone on windows live messanger i have been having some issues. The first being that I cannot access the setup for audio/video, the second is that I cannot show my webcam because it tells me that another programme is currently using it, which is not happening. The third problem being that I cannot use my microphone because it tells me that I have no sound card, again I do have this to. I also tried to use it on Skype and to my surprise it worked fine. Is this a common issue with Sony Vaio's ?

If anybody else is having the same problem please let me know if yu fixed it and how.

Thanks alot

Laura

Hi Laura and welcome to Club Vaio.

The MSN problem can be caused by McAfee antivirus - are you using it?

If you are then you need to double click on the red square (M) in the system tray and select to update your software. This has been fixed in the latest versions.

For the sound try clicking on the speaker icon in the system tray and check your microphone is not muted.
