We have now had the eleventh LA1 in our workshops since the start of this year. The symptom is a system that slows down or starts to display disc errors and bad sectors. In every case we have had to replace the WD SATA Drive which has simply broken down. Let this be a warning to any LA1 users. Their time seems to be up, but the drive replacement is not that horrendous and if you have have created the rebuild discs, the process takes about five hours to complete. New drives (and uprated capacities) start at around £75.00 for a WD replacement.
