i have a SONY VAIO VGN A517B
it does everything it says on the tin
except burn dvd,s
its all "dual layered, can record up to 4 hours of movies" etc etc stickers all over it
but NO IT DOESNT
the DVD/RW drive is in (F)
but it is not recognised in any of the drop down select drive functions
but it does play dvds superbly
it records audio cd.s no problem
ive used countless discs
but to no avail
we have now come to the conclusion
(after many days of drive letter jiggling, un instsalling ,reinstalling,searching for recordable drivers)
that this vaio is not fittd with s recordable dvd drive (only play)
is this true
if not
HOW THE HELL DO I BURN A DVD ?
