how many WATTs is my vaio?

I want to buy and external battery for my pcg-k315M, but on the sellers website it says the battery only powers a laptop of 72W. I can't find anywhere on/in my laptop what the correct Watt is? Sony refuses to help me, as they say i can only use their spare internal battery.

i don't need a power supply,i'm just fed up with the short running time of my battery, and i found an external one that lasts 9 hours...that's why i need to know how many watts my vaio is.

I have never seen a wattage published for any Notebook. It will depend on what is being run (Hard Disc, DVD Drive) and what accessories are connected.

If your standard 4,000 mAh battery lasts 40 minutes - then it is drawing about 6 amps which at 14.8 volts is 88.8 Watts which is a bit high for this battery. Without anything connected and with 'light' use, it may only draw 4.8 amps and you may get 50 minutes battery life which is about 71 Watts.

Your Power Supply for the 315M is 150 Watts. Because of the powerful desktop type processor, time duration on a battery is crap.

The external one you are looking at is 9,500 mAh and will give your Vaio much less than 9 hours. At 6 amps it will only give you 90 minutes (about 2 hours on 'light' use)

On the site you have given us, there is an opportunity to contact an 'expert' - I would ask!
