Extended Battery Pack Not Charging (0% Available - Plugged In Charging)

Most non-Sony batteries are incompatible with recent Vaios - especially those on eBay! Only genuine Sony batteries seem to work. I'm not sure if this is legal but it is the way of the world. Sony say they build in hardware checks for battery safety - and all non-Sony batteries seem to fail!

For older Vaios you could stop the battery utility running at startup (ISBMGR.EXE) but I don't think this works with the Vista Vaios.
