Just wanted to point out my problem with my VGN-AR88E.
Over the last few months I have noticed dust INSIDE the screen..
Sometimes when I turn on the laptop its not there or its changed posistion..
Now I have dust spots and a hair in my screen. Just as I thought it couldnt get any worse I watched a small black spot moving around in my screen. 3 days later its obviously died and its ended up in the top right hand corner of my screen. I have contacted Sony and explained that this has been going on for the last few months. I was informed that my laptop would be collected the other day and sorted as I still have a few months of warrentee left. on the day of collection towards the end of the day I was then informed that no one would be collecting it as the warrentee didnt cover my problem. The only way they could help me was to replace the screen which would cost me £750. Well after doing a bit of research I found that these screens on these laptops should be SEALED.. My laptop has never left my home and has remained on my computer desk. Most of my equipment is made by SONY like my TV.. I have never seen this problem before. So much for these laptop screens being sealed.
I feel theres a bad design here people. Before anyone asks.. I have always used my DRY cloth which came with my glasses to clean my screen.
