Hi all
New to the forum. I recently bought the above Desktop and I am generally happy with it, except for the following issue.
The keyboard and mouse that comes with it is wireless, and instead of a USB dongle to connect the items, there is a CONNECT button on the back of the unit which you press when attempting to establish a connction. Both items did nothing, I have tried everything including inserting new batteries/moving the unit away from any potential interference areas etc.
Sony have been great and have sent me a new Keyboard - but as I am at work I won't be able to check this for a while. I however have a feeling the issue may lie with the CONNECT button as it seems odd BOTH items didn't connect.
Can anyone give me some other ideas as to how I can amend this? IE - any diagnostics for the Infra Red connection (which in System Manager is reading as working correctly)...
Please?
Hi there
On my XL302 the keyboard is infrared, the same as yours & also uses a Connect button. But there is also a Connect button on the PC itself which has to be pressed before pressing the one on the keyboard, when this is done the symbol appears on the keyboard.
Hope this helps
Thanks for coming back to me, I don't think I fully explained that I have been pushing both Connect buttons (keyboard and PC). Just tried the new keyboard they sent, still nothing.
I'll be sending the machine back to Sony and I think I'll buy a reputable machine that works, this is my 2nd VAIO that has been endlessly problematic.
I have the same problem on my VGC-LN1M from time to time when it wakes up from sleep, and am obliged to crash close the PC by powering off then restarting it from scratch.
I wonder whether a Logitech keyboard/mouse might not be more reliable.
