I have recently upgraded my VAIO notebook to the SZ1M/B which I am using with a docking station. I am sure this is a very simple question, but I still can't work it out!
My old VAIO used to happily shut without hibernating while it was attached to the docking station (protecting screen and keypad). I automatically tried to do this with my new VAIO and it hibernates. Do you have any idea how I can set it up so I can close the notebook without it hibernating whilst it is sat on the docking station:smileyconfused:
Hi,
maybe this will help.
i use a german version of windowsXP but it should help you all the same.
right click on you desktop, select properties, under screensavers click energy options, select enhanced, then where it says ´´when i close the laptop´´ select ,Do nothing´
i hope i haven't confused you,
let me know if it works.
regards,
Melroy
This is a security measure by Sony so your notebook doesn't overheat. You really shouldn't use the notebook when closed
