I have just taken delivery of the clamshell Clie UX50. I was using a memory stick from my F828 camera and with it I could view the photographs already saved to the stick. Can anyone tell me how I transfer music to the memoery stick and the software needed.
In order to combat music 'piracy' Sony have restricted music file transfers to MagicGate only (that's the white rather than the purple memory sticks).
Thanks Dave What a rip off!

I always was very slow on the uptake. I haven't managed to check the prices of the Magic Gate sticks. Please put me out of my misery and tell me what you were referring to.

When you said "What a rip off" I assumed that you had looked at the price of the (white) memory sticks - required for music - as opposed to the price of thte (purple) memory sticks - about twice as much
I too have a UX50 and an old N770C, on my PC I decided to use i-tunes which was free to download from the Apple site. The mp3 are stored in there respective folders on my d: drive. I simple inserted my 'purple' memory stick into my PC and sent the mp3's to the folder on my memory stick. I worked fine for me.
Good choice! Just rip mp3s with a programme like iTunes or MusicMatch, and then drag and drop to a purple memory stick. Voila! No problems with rights management on playback. Just stay away from the Magic Gate sticks!
