Hai,
I have a sony b1vp with the recovery-unit on the hard disc. I want to re-install xp prof but without all the extra software (sony, adobe etc.). I tried to install an other windows xp but then i am hours busy with installing the right drivers etc and i've tried to recover the whole computer and de-install the software after, but this is not what i want. I just want to install xp pro with the nessecery things, nothing extra. When you recover the system form the harddisc, there is no option to not install the extra software. It just goed automatic.
I didn't made the recovery discs yet, but i supose that if you make them there is no such option also. By the way, i have to burn 11 cd's. this is a little bit exreme.
By the way, if you install software on your vaio, and you make the recoverydiscs after, does it also put the new installed software on it? Like if i install flash on my c:, does the recovery tool to burn cs's also put that on the recovery disc?
i hope somebody can help me!
for the rest...... Great laptop, the b1vp !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Before you do anything rational, I would make the recovery CDs.
Installing new software will not be added to the disks, it's just copying whats on the recovery partition.
