BLUE SCREEN CANNOT REBOOT PLEASE HELP!

hi,

i did something that someonesaid in this forum buit now my computer doesnt reboot i get the screen with safe mode, last good setting etc. and it doesnt mattter which one i choose i get a blue screen and the computer restarts,
i put my old hard disk in my notebook thats why i canbe online,

i ordered the hitachi notebook hard disk kit so i can use one harddrive as external harddrive if i put my new harddrive with the blue error.. and i format it does it work again?

i also boughj online the driver and recovery dvd disk from sony website,
if i format my harddrive and install windows again and then i insert the dvd drive does all the sony utilities come back from the recovery disk?

Hi Philippoussis,

In order to answer your question fully it would be helpful to know exactly what you did, that you suspect, is causing the blue screen.

However, in principal, assuming that there is not a hardware fault with the drive the procedure would be to re-format the drive in the caddy and then re-install it in the notebook.

There is no need to install Windows prior to using the recovery disk, just boot from the disk and follow the instructions this will install the operating system, Sony drivers, utilities and applications. In theory once the recovery is complete your notebook should be as it was when delivered.

i had problems with my cd drive and someone said in another topic to delete something from the register a key so i did it but then i got the blue screen tomorrow i have the recovery disk and i will stick the recovery in the otebook and i will see if it works thank you:D

If you are referring to deleting the upper and Lower Filters then I doubt that this is connected with your problem, but let us know how you get on with the restore,

i think it has something to do with it because it never had problems and i deleted that registry key and i got the blue screen,.

i ordered online a recovery cd from sony and i bought an hd upgrade kit so i think i will put my harddisk in there and then i will format my partition with windows on it and it should work
