Hi
I have just had the shock realisation that it seems that video unlimited is not available in my region, Ireland.
Despite the "Get your favorite Music, Movies, games.... "advertising for SEN everywhere, I cannot get movies....
The store rep had also told me I could download movies there, what a dissappointment.
I bought a 46HX853
Does anyone know if this is coming soon or should I just return my €1600 to the store and get a samsung while I can?
Regards
Ian

I think Sony is holding back, just waiting for us to buy sony google tv.
because so far the possibility for us seeing online video content is like north korean style.
Hi
There is no confirmed date for launching Video Unlimited in Ireland at the moment I'm afraid - and this is the same for all platforms as its a rights issue rather than a device issue.
Thanks
Hi Catmambo,
How do Sony recommend I download a movie that I want to watch on my TV? Was looking forward to paying for and downloading a few 3d movies on demand and watchin them with family. (that reminds me now of the money I've spent on 3d glasses that I cannot get value out of either now...)
the only way I am aware of now is to replace with a samsung. Would appreciate your advice.
Regards
Ian
Hi
Not sure what services Samsung offer so I can only really comment on the Sony offering. The HX8 is widely regarded as the best TV on the market at the moment judging by the number of 5* reviews from the press. At present, only Netlfix is offered in Ireland down to content rights and we are working to bring Video Unlimited to Ireland at somepoint in the future, but no date has been confirmed yet
As far as 3D movies, there is a broader range available via Blu-ray as all TVOD services only have access to movies for a relatively short period of time, and mindful that you get full Dolby DTS-HD on Blu-ray which you don't presently get on the majority of streaming video services. So if you are looking for the best quality experience, then Blu-ray is the best way to enjoy 3D and couple this with the best 2D & 3D TV on the market which you already have, you are pretty much set. If you don't already have a Blu-ray player, then you could always consider getting a competitors device to provide an alternative range of connected services compared to those already available on the TV.
Streaming services are also very dependent on your broadband connection and from the research I've seen on average Irish speeds and actual connection rates for devices, this remains a massive problem, although this may not be the case in your instance.
Hope this helps
