Hi,
I have googled forever on this and can't find anything but I'm sure someone must be able to help. I have a Sony Bravia 42" TV and I need to extend the power cord so it will reach the power socket. I plugged the TV into 6 extension cords and with each one the standby light comes on but the TV won't turn on...has anyone else experienced this...is it a fault with the TV?
Thanks in advance
Hi carysmuffin and welcome.
I think lots of use the TV with an extension lead without problems.
I presume you have tried pressing the Power button on the Remote Control?
Have you tried the TV plugged directly into the wall socket or tried a different wall socket to check if it is the socket that is faulty?
Has the TV worked before or is it brand new?
Hi Blencogo,
It's a new tv and it works when I plug directly into mains socket. The power cord on the TV isn't long enough to reach the socket on the wall so I plugged it into an extension lead, I've tried 6 diferent ones now and the ones with the power surge protector but even thought there is power as the standby light is on it won't power up when I use the remote or the button on the TV....any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
x
