Software update failure KD-55XE7073

Hello,

How do I resolve a software update failure on a Sony KD-55XE7073. The tv is now unresponsive. Any help please.

Hello, I have tried the reset method you recommended, but it’s not working.

 

 

The TV turns  on alright when plugged into the electrical outlet, followed by the Sony logo then a blank screen. No Menu/Input display on the screen.

 

The bottom white led light stands on. No Blinking

 

The white led light at bottom responses to any pressed button on the Remote Control/TV but no action on the screen.

Hi ficorus, 

 

I think the TV needs to be checked by a service centre since the failure happened during an update. However, you can try the following just in case:

- Try to remove all external inputs (including the aerial) from the TV, unplug it from the mains, and leave it for few minutes and then plug the power cable only back.

- Keep all external inputs out, and try to plug a USB stick to the TV with the update file on it and check if this can help. You can download the update on a USB stick from this link: https://bit.ly/2JMx8q1.

If the above didn't help, I'd say take it to a service centre to check it out or if it's still under warranty, you can contact Sony to book a repair for the TV.
