Poor audio on KDL-40CX523

How much extra does one have to spend to get anything like decent audio for this flat screen piece of tat?

How much has it cost others?

Frankly, after all the hype by Sony I expected more, obviously I'm an idiot.

BN.

Hi Bennock

Obviously you are NOT an idiot, unfortunately you were born under the sign of Customer :smileylaugh:. Most of us expect some audio quality from our TV’s. The problem is that they are so thin that there is not space for speaker. It is like camera phones, it does not matter how many mega pixels the sensor has because one can never fit a proper lens to it. You could get a sound bar for a few tens, 70 - ..., of pounds or a home theatre for a few hundreds, 100 - ..., of pounds. You will need to check that this audio supplement have the right input.

Another solution might be if you have a small stereo system already. You might be able to connect the TV to this system by using an optical cable or whichever output connection you TV has and input connection you stereo has. Most recent stereos have a wide range on inputs and some of them might be found quite cheaply.
