Hello All
As you have already seen in the subject above, it is sadly unfortunate that Google will no longer support the YouTube application on 2012 and older Sony televisions, video and audio products from 20 April 2015. Many 2012 devices may have 2 YouTube icons. If you have the white square YouTube icon, this will still be supported.
This is a decision that is well outside of Sony's control. Many other manufactuerers/brands will also be affect by this.
Please see Sony's FAQ for more information as well as the full list of devices affected:

Please also see YouTube's announcement:

I understand that may of you will be upset by this (including myself!), To voice your displeasure and a show of solidarity, please click the "Me Too" button on this first post.
If you feel that you wish to comment, please do so in this thread only. However can you please keep it within forum rules.
Thank you all
I understand your feelings, but have a look at Samsung forum https://community.samsung.it/t5/Domande-e-aiuto-SMART-TV/UE40D6510WSXXH-e-problema-con-Youtube/m-p/1... (I'm sorry it's in italian but I'm sure you can find it also in the UK one): youtube is not supported anymore C/D series starting from march.
Im not surprised by Google doing this, im a Window's phone user so I know what being shafted by the all mighty Google is like.
Luckily both the Sony products I have are not affected ( this time ) by Google deciding to upgrade it's Youtube service.
It is typical of Google - disappoint people (companies) to assist it with the promotion of its services. This scam will never forgive him. It is a warning against cooperation with Google. I will not buy TV Box. If I wanted it, I'd buy Blaupunkt in Tesco and not Sony. My next SMART TV will certainly not Sony. I buy Samsung TV. I will not regret it for discard again if Google stops support.
You Tube was the only reason i got this TV which is no more used. Sony needs to work on fixing things forever or keep on upgrading it. Looks like they are not focusing on existing TV customers.
I wrote previously on this thread; I have two wall mounted KDL-EX screens. A message has just appeared next to the 50D. app that they will no longer be supporting this after 7 May 2015. This leaves the BBC I player as the only useful free app available. My Internet TV is basically one step away from being a non Internet TV.
I could almost cry when I think about the amount of money I have wasted....
I am sure that all 2010 models listed here (http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/help/information/Sony) will probably lose iPlayer within the year by all else that is now happening in this regard. My Blu-ray player has now ceased to exist in iPlayer terms (it could 'do' HD) and is no longer listed.
and here's why https://developers.google.com/youtube/youtube-api-list
Get a Now TV box.
dont get samsung I regret ever buying from them.
I thought that Samsung were the best! What's your story?
