On my KDL-24EX320 / KDL-40HX803 the On-Timer allows the user to select either a specified analog TV channel, or alternately the option 'Digital' - which simply gives the last Digital channel to be watched. Why can I not choose the Digital channel to turn on to?
Since it appears the UK is about to undergo a digital Switch Over where the analog channels will be turned off, meaning I will only be able to select 'Digital' in future. This means if I fall asleep one evening watching, say, a film channel which does not broadcast the next morning, I risk not being woken up.
For a bedroom TV such as the KDL-24EX320, this is a bit of an oversight. I would really like Sony to update this feature to allow the user to specify a particular Digital channel to turn on to. Could this be done in a firmware update?
