Bravia KDL-42W705B sound but no picture

As the title says I have a KDL-42W705B with sound but no picture. We were watching when the picture scrambled...reduced to the top 6 inches of the screen and then disappeared.

There is still a backlight and sound but no picture. Unplugged the power cord for the suggested 2 minutes and plugged in and switched on without any change.

Anymore settings to try or is it call the maintainence man?

Hi there

It does sound like the TV needs a repair. 

Its your description which indicates to me that its a hardware fault:

"We were watching when the picture scrambled...reduced to the top 6 inches of the screen and then disappeared."

Yes did think that was the likely outcome. Just wanted to cover things I might not have tried.

Could you get it fixed? Sounds like we are having a similar problem.
