Auto Setting for HDMI Pass-through

Hi all. This is driving me mad so I hope someone can help. I have an STR-DH810 and can only get pass though to work on the ON setting. AUTO works for a minute or so when I change from ON to AUTO, but then the unit goes into stanby and only works if I set Passthru to ON.

Can someone help me out? Many thanks in advance.

I've just bought an STR-DH820, and I have the same issue.

'Auto' keeps the receiver turned on for about 30 seconds, then turns everything off, but also doesn't turn the receiver on to standby when signal is fed into it.

'On' effectively keeps the receiver permanently turned on.

I don't want to always have the receiver turned on when I want to use my Sony DVD player or PS3.

Did you find a way of sorting it?

Maybe the TV just plays half of it because the TV has to take time to detect the HDMI being connected. It happens to some TVs. http://www.bosin.info/g.gifhttp://www.bosin.info/g.gif

It is also a good idea to check every settings and options your TV has. You might learn something from it and be able to fix it on your own next time.
