Sony xperia S gets detected by pc companion but it says phone memory is not yet accesible.

Hello there !
                         I am krishna.I already have Sony xperia S for which I don't have any problems till date.Today,I've purchased another sony xperia S and gifted it to my friend.My friend got an error on his pc in pc companion saying that "Your phone is detected by pc companion,but the phone memory is not yet accesible"

I'm also attaching a screenshot of it !!

Additional details : The phone is upgraded to android 4.0.4 using SUS !!

Uliwooly,It worked man !! We reinstalled the software using SUS and voila...It worked man !!
