Screen protector - to use or not to use? ;-)

Screen protector - to use or not to use? ๐Ÿ˜‰

My SK15i has a screen protecting film bundled. I haven't try to install it yet.

Do you use it? Does it change the screen contrast or touch reaction? Does it influence the "captive buttons" issue in any way?

I believe it was stated as SHATTER PROOF FILM OVER SCRATCH RESISTANT GLASS .(more or less along those lines)
so therefore it the glass that is scratch resistant (resistant, not scratch proof), Dizzy_Face

and after watching this , I will never leave my phone without screen protector.

An additional question. What is a preferred method of cleaning the screen before the protector is applied?

May I use Isopropyl alcohol to remove stains, fingerprints and fat? Or maybe the screen has some coating that can be dissolved by the Isopropyl and something else should be used?

I would not recommend using strong liquids (alcohol) or any liquids at all,, just using the lint-free cloth is enough, but if you want to be meticulous, you can use distilled water, just do not apply it to the device, on cloth perhaps..

afte watchin this it's really doubtful whether da screen protecter is really needed:smileywink:

and yes, just use a dry cotton cloth as stan said

Hmmm... what's wrong with Isopropyl? Thinking_Face

use the liquid if you want so much. apply the liquid to the cloth (not to da screen). and make sure you cleans up every bit of the liquid before applying da protector.

but i do not advise u to use it. i wouldn't use anything petroleum or alcohol  based on something like a sensitive screen. i mean there won't be anything that a little bit of soapy water cannot clean.:smileywink:

after watching that, I definetly would install a screen protector, the screen is scratch resistant, not scratch proof.. and seeing this kind of test make me sick.. Crying_Face

it's just we really need to avoid using any liquids near the phone., if the water damage indicators get wet, your waranty would be void. even a drop on those indicators.

Pavan_Hyuga, is right, why use alcohol if you can clean it with water, unless you want your phone germ free. Slightly_smiling_Face

lol:smileylaugh:. and if sony's glass is as tough as in the video i don't see a reason why sony sends a scrach protector to us. that video must be fooling the viewers:smileydevil:

yep, it's a screen protector, specifically, a shatter proof sheet, not a scratch protector.

just like in the video link I posted above. Slightly_smiling_Face

well I'd like to think of it as a bonus. cause even the gorilla glass or dragontail ones are not scratch proof , only resistant, so sooner or later, eventually it will be scratched. Smiling_Face_with_open_mouth_&_closed_Eyes
