Hello kalmanzita
If you have made a backup of your information go ahead and perform a Factory data reset.
Then restore your information.
Let me know how the phone behaves.
Francis.
Forget that it says Debrand the process is exactly the same
http://www.xperiablog.net/2012/03/26/debrand-your-xperia-s-tutorial/
Now all you need is the firmware for your country if you reply and say then I'm pretty sure I either have it or can get it
Dear Thommo,
Thanks a lot indeed for your help. However as I can't understand the half of what they say at the link you gave, I rather not try to debrand my device, whatever that means... :s
Cheers though!!
Dear Francis,
Thanks a lot for your answer. I haven't intentionally made a backup, but I guess the phone or my computer did when I 'upgraded' the software...
Could you please help me with some details on this procedure, as I'm not an infotech guru?
- How can I make a backup?
- What does the factory data reset mean? Does that mean that in the end the device will look like when I got it, like it'll run the old software version?
- Where on the phone will I find the factory data function?
- When that's done how do I restore my information?
Sorry for being so dummy at this, and thanks a million for your help!
Zita
A Factory data reset will not downgrade your phone to GB
If you are willing I could remote network and downgrade your phone for you but you will need the firmware for your phone so we need to know what country you are in or what country you bought your phone in to re-install the correct firmware that the hpone origonaly had
Thanks Francis, I did the factory data reset. Although I had to download all my apps again, now it seems to be working. Thanks to O2 for my unlimited data plan...
Thanks to Thommo too!
