I was a bit of a cowboy, so I didn't.  Just make sure that you do not have any files you would like to keep on your phone memory.  Move them all to the internal memory.  Sync your contacts to Google.  All your apps will definitely be gone, but you can install them later once you setup Google on your phone.

To be sure, I will say backup your current firmware.

Another thing here sir, if i flash my XPS manualy, can i still do the repair using the SUS so it would download and install me the (shall we say) Legal update...?and how about the updates on the apps on Play store does it function and give you updates?

That's what I was trying to do and my recent attempt has been unsuccesful.  Although I would attribute that to the fact that there is just too much traffic going on with the Sony servers at the moment.  There will be no notable differences between the Swiss version though and the "official" update.  Based on my own understanding, whenever you use PC Companion or Sony Update Service, once it finds out that you have the latest software, it can still give you an option to repair it-- and that's how you can install the "official" one.  The repair service downloads the update from Sony servers and installs it in your phone to complete the process.  By doing so, it sorts of overwrites your current OS installation.  At least that's how I think it works.

Regarding Google Play, yes it does function as expected. I actually have pending updates in fact.

Out of curiosity, are you on Smart or Globe?

Im on a Globe sir,' does the network affects the updates?, i choose globe coz of the widest coverage and the speed on mobile internet browsing,,

On the contrary, I don't have signal with Globe when I'm in Batangas.  Which is why I'm on Smart.  Globe is great when in Manila, but it's the same with Smart too. In terms of price, I like Smart better.  Globe's a bit expensive on mobile internet.

You'll be surprised how quick the process is.

After the update, I just had to reinstall my apps, restore my contacts and redo my settings...  That's it.
